New Wesley pastor starts July 1

Wesley Campus Ministry is saying goodbye this summer to the pastor who has led the program for the past two years while gearing up to welcome a new director.

After June 30, Rev. Sara Olson Dean will be on family leave indefinitely to raise her little boy, Elliott. She and her husband Alex are also expecting another child in November.

Earlier this summer, United Methodist Bishop Minerva Carcaño appointed Rev. Rob Rynders to lead Wesley Campus Ministry. Rob officially starts July 1.

Rob was commissioned as a United Methodist minister in June, but he's already had 10 years of involvement in ministries with young people — whether it be as a student himself, a youth director or as a staff member for Sierra Service Project.

"I am very excited and I feel very blessed to have this opportunity to be in ministry with the students of ASU," Rob said. "And I look forward to meeting all of you!"
